Rangers Bench Andrus for His Energy-Less Performance
Rangers’ Sunday's 6-1 loss to the Twins at Target Field really upset many in Washington and in the list was also the Texas Rangers Manager Ron Washington, who was majorly upset with the poor performance Andrus, who ended up with two major errors in the game. Shortstop Elvis Andrus wasn't also happy with two plays that he didn't make in the seventh inning of 6-1 loss under which the two errors that he ended up with were: he's batting .275 so far this season, seven points above his career average. He's hit three homers and driven in 28 runs.
Manager Ron Washington didn't have a problem with that even but he definitely was upset with the poor throw that Andrus made in the eighth inning, post which Washington pinch-hit for Andrus in the top of the ninth inning.
Washington pulled Andrus in the ninth after he blew a routine ground ball in the eighth. "I didn't like his attitude," Washington said, according to the Star-Telegram. "The inning before there were a couple of plays he didn't make, but he gave the effort. There are going to be plays that you can't make. On that play, there wasn't energy. Elvis is better than that. I didn't chew him out, but I let him know that."
The lack of energy displayed by Andrus has really upset Washington.
