Apple Approved As Bidder in Nortel Patents Deal
Green signal has been given to Apple for the plan they had in mind about the bid for wireless technology patents. They are to buy these patents from the Canadian Firm Nortel, which is reportedly bankrupt. There is going to be an auction for the selling of the patents and rights of the firm.
It was reported in the Wall Street journal that the firm can now be accepted as a qualified bidder after passing the various standard checks for the same.
There are a number of companies eyeing this patent sale and are going on to a full throttle competition with each other for the same. The reason for this great tug-of war is that the patents are concerned with the 4th gen Long term Evolution standards and this would benefit their businesses in a huge way. Many other big firms like Google are also a part of this auction.
The auction is up in a few days and it is merely a matter of time before people would find out the feasibility of the same. It is a much awaited affair and would mark some serious changes in the IT scene of the vicinity.
