Washington Seems To Win Its Eight Consecutive Game
It seems that Ryan Zimmerman has become a lucky mascot for the Washington Nationals. Since his inclusion in the team, the Nationals have managed to win all four games and all six since he started batting at eighth slot.
Just two more wins and the Nationals will have reached a .500 record this late in the year for the first time since that inaugural season.
Well, the scene was not the same most games during April and May as the team struggled to score even four runs, added Manager Jim Riggleman, “We had no chance earlier in the year”.
With Philadelphia losing late Friday night, Washington had become the most likely winner in this season baseball, though Zimmermann is expected to win his third consecutive game on Saturday against the Baltimore Orioles in the Battle of the Beltways.
Coming after a five-game suspension, Marquis could not provide much to the team. "This team has been playing some good baseball here of late, solid baseball”, said Jason Marquis, Friday's starting pitcher."Catching the ball, throwing the ball, timely hitting. It makes it fun. It's contagious”.
Moreover, Washington appeared to have a positive chance of winning its first eight-game since Aug. 2-9, 2009, with Zimmermann taking the ball.
