Design you own robot with My Robot Nation
The newly launched website My Robot Nation aims to allow users to design their own 3D robot models, using body parts, accessories, stamps and colors online, and have exact 3D models of them at their doorsteps.
During the San Francisco-based website's beta previous month, hundreds of people designed 3D prints of their desired robots using the simple but unique interface and got exact 3D models of their designed robots at their doors just days later.
One can choose to design a robot of different sizes, ranging between two inches and six inches.
However, it should be noted here that 3D models of the robots are not shipped for free. A two-inch tall 3D model of a robot costs $18, while a six-inch model will make one fork out $170.
Vice President Scott Harmon, of business development for Z Corporation, said, "My Robot Nation is a fun because robots are cool."
The website offers a number of interactive social tools to allow users to share their design with others via social networks. The site also offers a voting system to allow people to vote on a creation.
For the Christmas holiday season, My Robot Nation has introduced a gift service plus some festive designs to make it easy for them to decorate their robots.
Overall, My Robot Nation allows more than 9 billion different robot configurations.
