CR: AT&T ranks lowest in customer satisfaction for second successive year
In its recently-released annual ratings of US wireless providers, Consumer Reports (CR) has revealed that, for the second successive year, AT&T cellphone service has ranked the lowest in terms of consumer satisfaction.
In a yet-to-be-published article about its most recent satisfaction survey of CR online subscribers, the magazine specified that the survey offered rankings for the four bigwig US national cell-phone service providers - Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile - as well as mobile carriers in 22 key metropolitan areas, including the Los Angeles area.
According to the findings of the CR survey, the consumer satisfaction ratings for the year 2011 were topped by a provider called Consumer Cellular; while AT&T found itself at the lowest rung yet again.
According to CR, the survey found that the highest Ratings among the four leading cell-phone standard service providers in the country were grabbed by Verizon on account of "very good scores" in terms of texting, data service satisfaction, and staff knowledge; with Sprint coming in at a close second spot.
The CR report also revealed that even though T-Mobile ranked lower than Verizon and Sprint, it still managed to get a notably better rating than the higher-priced AT&T.
Commenting on the consumer complaints that the CR report has mentioned against AT&T, the carrier's VP and LA general manager Andy Shibley said in an emailed statement: "We hear our customers and we are committed to getting better and better. We have turned a corner, and we are making progress toward our goal to offer our customers the best experience anywhere."
