Residents from Washington, D. C, to California, marked 11th September 2001, as National Memorable Day. On this day people performed parades, barbeques, and remembrance of sober moments, in relation to 9/11 terror attacks.

The nation celebrated its 10th anniversary; the event took a rejoicing turn with the death of the Osama Bin Laden, the man behind the 9/11terror attack. The event was organized in memory of the dead and to pay attribute to the ones who came forward to help people, at the break of emergency.

On this Day, President of America, Barack Obama, placed garland at the tomb of unknown victims of the attack. Further, he delivered a speech at Arlington amphitheatre and met with the families of the soldiers who died in the war, he consoled the people of his nation saying that, "To those of you mourn the loss of a loved one today, my heart goes out to you".

The Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates, also shared his views with the people, he said, he will keep these brave patriots and their families in his heart and prayers. The holiday was commenced, to honor the nation's war dead, thereby introducing a new meaning to it.
