Arizona Conducted Second Largest Wallow Fire in the Apache National Forest
A Wallow fire was set in Apache National Forest, Arizona gained 300 acres of land, this was being considered as the second biggest wallow fire of thee region. The fire destructed 311,481 acres within 24 hours. The largest fire of Arizona was named as the Rodeo-Chedeski Fire, which burned 467,000 acres in 2002.
The Wallow fire had created a lot of problems for the firefighters due to the unfavorable weather conditions. The fire was claimed to have spread to the surrounding areas of Alpine, Blue River, Greer, Nutrioso and Sunrise. Even the wind was at a speed of 30 to 40 mph which was also one of obstacles for the firefighters. The fire was a threat to the residents around the area which was set on fire. As per Arizona fox, the location of fireplace was 30 miles away from the power station , but closer to transmission lines.
Even New Mexico, Wyoming and Nebraska were under the threat of being affected with its smoke and fire, the city of Albuquerque had declared an air quality alert because of the smoke of the fire. The Communication in the area of the fire was difficult and cell phone service was spotty, firefighting personnel told KOB-TV, Albuquerque. The National Guard was expected to bring communication equipment into the area to help address the matter.
