IMF Candidate Has to Wait Until Next Hearing

According to the sources, it was found out that the French Criminal Court will decide on 8 July whether a probe should be launched on the accusation of the Finance Minister Christine Lagarde’s case. Ms Lagarde accusation was that she was campaigning at the International Monetary Fund.

The Court de Justice de la République reported that it had designated some magistrates to overview the accusations and make recommendations for decision that has to be taken in the month of July.

It has also been revealed that the IMF will announce its new managing director before the hearing of this accusation at the court.

The position of IMF managing director has been vacant since Frenchman Dominique Strauss-Kahn resigned after he was charged with a rape attempt by a New York court. Mr. Strauss-Kahn have denied the charges and resigned from his post in the IMF.

On Friday, the French Court has told that they have put off this case until 8 July and then they will decide whether to open a formal inquiry against Christine Lagarde's role in a 2008 arbitration case.

French officials have claimed that any probe against Ms. Lagarde's could be used for tarnishing the reputation of another French national in Washington.
