California Senate Not in Favor of Increase in State Taxes

The Senate of California has rejected any further increases in the taxes in their state. They have blocked a tax solution to the deficit. This has evoked a reaction in the democrats as well. They are now of the view to expand the powers of taxations in the vicinity.

This marked the beginning of round 2 of the feud in the state budget. It included letters being read from Sheriffs as well as parliamentary gamesmanship and taxpayers. The commission however was not able to make it as desired changes for the stunting of funds.

There was a deadline that had to be met by the makers of the law. They have a further threat looming overhead of lost pay.

"The public doesn't like cuts and they don't like taxes", said Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, D–Sacramento.

He further added, "And as my budget director is fond of noting, I have yet to see a poll that results in a balanced budget. If there was a pain-free option to balancing the budget, we would have passed it months ago”.
